what exactly are you trying to accomplish by putting in a porsche engine?
if you are worrying about changing the intake, dont do a type 4 conversion. youll have to change alot. id stick with the type 1 considering alot of 356 owners put type 1 engines into theres, parts are readily available and cheaper. if i were you id stick with your engine, but im not. |

A fuel pump is a lot easier to change then a porsche conversion.

i agree. let's first determine what your goal is. are you trying to sort out induction or are you looking for more HP? fuel pumps are easy to replace and many times you are better off switching to an electric anyway. if you are looking for HP, you need to be able to determine exactly how you intend to drive the car to know how to get to the right solution. a 914 (a.k.a. Type 4)engine is not a difficult conversion on the whole, but it is some work and $$. no use in bothering with a 356 engine. bug money for parts with little HP gain. you would be better off with a T1 build.
the "Fat" thread is a good place to look at some info on a TIV conversion using a 911 fan setup. jake's massivetype4.com site has great detail on the conversion using his DTM shroud. |
