Also: do all agree that the CSP shifter is as nice as I have the impression it is? Want the ball style knob.- But what type of lockout? Does other shift-knobs fit straight on?

Here is the link for selecting the shifter you want through CSP. You will notice the butterfly is the only choice with a ball knob.

I have not tried to remove the ball knob so I don't know about thread size or anything like that.
