How about that variable valve lift system Honda used (still does?) in those civics and cr-x's? Apparently (correct me if I'm wrong) when the engine hits a certain rpm, the fulcrum point on the rocker arms changes and effectively changes the ratio of the rockers (i.e. 1.1:1 to 1.25:1 quoting bug rockers).

Also jumping into the thread
From my clubmates I get any number of ideas and opinions about engine power. But good solutions for getting that power into actual SPEED are fewer... My stock engined, 15-inch rimmed w/ 195/60 tires, T1-69 revvs like crazy at 110 kph... If I had a 100 HP instead of my current 55, I don't think my actual speed would increase, I would only have to rev even more?? I have also heard NOT to experiment with ACVW transmissions without really knowing what you're doing. I don't. So, more HP into actual street speed... How?

The best way to real power is a Type 4 engine, just do the heads correctly the first time around and it will last and last, bullet proof bottom end also
