Craig,
I believe if its a 912/1 its going to be too short.. unless you plan on doing rallies or such.. I had a similiar box, and ended up selling the gears.. VR Alex

Turns out it's a 902/02 with afmsx gear stack. Is that stock 912 gearing?

Craig,
afmsx is much too short for this type 4. I recommend a/f/n/v/zd. That´s 914. Try to get hold of an early 914 gearbox (nose-shifter pre 1972). Martin Bug @ 5-Speed |

The tranny is already rebuilt with a limited slip. We (Wevo and I) decided to run these stock gears to see how I liked them with whatever my final wheel size lands being. Aside from the uncertainty of wheel size, we also based this decision on the fact that I'm looking for a fun street car that low end acceleration is much more important than top speeds. I'll most likely start off with a fairly tall tire on a 17" wheel.
Are these 911 gears? Thanks- Craig |
