Not sure about that thread? I thought to remember that a superbeetle (or any late model) doesn't have screw-anything, but just a 5 or 6mm outlet pipe bronze-welded at the underside of the tank

I did remember filling the tank with water for the most part and welding on a 10mm pipe onto it as a main outlet to the efi pump and using the stock 6mm as a return line...??
