310mm front discs with early boxster calipers?

For occasional use then it will be used as intended. We have 4 steel 944 space saver wheels with 165x15 tyres. All have stickers to limit the speed to 60mph (96kph) but I am convinced that looking at the substantial construction that that limitation was for when it was used in conjunction with the standard wide/low profile alloy wheels and tyres. I intend to use these wheels for autotesting where they will help where less traction can be beneficial.
