kerscher rear vented discs?
I think i've opted for the kerscher rotor on cb spindle with the 944 4 pot caliper up front. Seems simple enough. For the rear i'd like a similar setup but can't find any kerscher vented rear rotors. I would just use 944 rotors but don't want to widen my rear track. Does kerscher make a vented rear rotor adaptable to 944 calipers that doesn't widen the rear track? If so how much and could someone offer a link. i've searched csp's site and couldn't find vented rears and the kerscher site is in german and i'm not too proficient.

Kerscher does not have a rear vented disk brake kit or just the disk.

That would probably explain why i couldn't find them. I may have to narrow my stock trailing arms and run the 944 setup. thanks

someone correct me if i'm wrong but i beleive all 944's came with vented discs front and back which is a very popular swap for our cars. also crossdrilling a rotor defeats the purpose (unless only for looks) if it isn't vented.

I have a question, Why not just use the rear end of the 944(which has vented discs and e-brake) and keep the Kerscher setup up front, thus leaving a four wheel disc/vented setup?
I am still trying to sort out a couple of things for my conversion, but the rear end is complete. The front however, is giving me a headache. Are the Kerscher discs the same diameter/thickness as the 944 non turbo rotors? please someone confirm this for me. E |

the idea behind the kersher rear vented discs was to maintain stock track width. 944's widen track width and i was just curious if they made something similar to the 944's but without the increased track.

The early 944 rear trailing arms have the same dimensions as the VW trailing arms. The only differance is that the porsche arms are internally braced. The stub axle is even interchangable. I can't imagine that the track increase is that much. Might only be a few millimeters.

i wasn't referring to the arms but the rotors themselves. i was (am) under the impression that its the rotors and not the trailing arms themselves that increase track width. not positive how much but more than i was interested in thats why i asked about the kercsher rear rotors since they have a bolt on for the front thought maybe they had a bolt on for the rear but apparently not.

As per Kerscher, the front rotors are 20mm thick. I believe that's 1mm under the maximum wear for front rotors that Porsche recomends for a 944 with single piston calipers.
Too bad, it would've made the conversion so much simpler. E |

944 Rear Brakes increase the track by about 22mm without the use of any 944 trailing arms. 944 Steel Arms - No track increase 944 Alloy Arms (Early) - 1" increase 944 Alloy Arms (Late) - 2" increase

I thought the track increase was more with the later arms. Mine measure 61" outside hub surface to outside hub surface and 66" wide with the wheels mounted.

Very interesting. all of this info with the offset on rims should help anyone setup their tires and rims.
Anyone selling stock steek Porsche rims by any chance? E |
