Building a new mill for my son
Well the 1600 T-1 in my son's 73 is getting slugish. So with some more great swap-meet deals from Bug-A-Paluza (I love spending someone elses money) and some stuff that I had around I built a 1641 with reman. heads, a great un-cut case, scat c-35 cam, new crank, rods, piston/cyl., lifters, bearings, gaskets, new full flow-pump/filter and some other swap-meet finds and some good German tin that we re-worked (the most complete set you will find, see pic 5). Waiting to paint the exhaust/heater boxes(Ryan needs to prep) and swap some stuff for a dual weber 34 set next week and it will be ready to go. Then I need to finish getting the car ready for paint. With his RS tail, the 2L Fuchs (he wants), Black trim, Gaurds Red paint, 914 dash(still need to fab), he might be VKG bound.

Ater a few problems it is in and running great. The carb problem was a fuel pump putting out too much pressure, I swaped it with the pump from the black cars old engine. The clutch problem was light surface rust on the spline shaft. All seems to be well now and he has a strong 1641 with dual webers. :agree:

Very nice looking engine. How close are the rods in weight to each other. How far were they out of balance.?
