VDO Gauge

Hi all. I dont have a VW any more but I will in the future .
right now I have a 91 MR2 N/A. I have a vdo oil PSI gauge. That Im putting in my 2. I want to pull the bulb and put some thing brighter in. But I dont now how. I dont want to brake it. Do I just pull it out?

If it is the small bulb holder you turn it then pull. In fact most of them turn 1/4 turn left or right then pull it out.

I tryed that and it didnt work. it only turns like an 1/8 at the most. I'll put up some pics.

see how the lips on the bulb holder has the flaps and the gauge dosent let it turn.

ask the folks at www.egauges.com they sell lots of VDO stuff.

Turn it as mentioned 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Thats a standard vdo aftermarket guage. you can get different colored incadesent bulbs or modify a LED w/ a resister. There is a whole thread about putting LEDs into guages.
