911 4-speed gearbox?
Hi.
A collegue at work started talking about his 911. Then he told me he have a 4-speed gearbox extra that he might sell. When I asked about the gear ratio he claimed that he drive 120kph at 250rpm with it... Can this be true?? If so I'm really concidering this for my T34 Ghia!! That would be just great for highway driving!! Anybody got any knowledge and experience about the 4-speed gearboxes? |

"120kph at 250rpm"
If you meant 2500rpm, the gearing in that gearbox is no good to you. That is far too slow of engine speed and even in your northern climate, you will overheat. I don't understand why anyone would want to swap in a Porsche 4 speed when the VW one fits perfectly. |

Oops. Lost a zero there... Yes 2500rpm was what I meant...
Well, if i run the boxersix with the stock VW gearbox it will be running at 3200rpm at 100kph..... That is not a comfortable range IMO for highway use is it? Oh, well I just needed to ask this... |

What engine are you planning to use, a VW or Porsche 6?
