Narrowed front beam sway bar
On my 63 bug I have narrowed my from beam ~1" either side. I have been told that I don't need a sway bar due to the increased strength of the torsion bars.... I'm not so sure.
Is anyone out there running a narrowed beam with a sway bar and if so where did they get it from. Thanks |

The effect on body roll by chopping the beam that much is trivial. You still need a sway bar. |

Whiteline also provide narrowed anti roll bars although they are special order.
http://whiteline.com.au/ See 'Loose the lean' in the Tech section. My beam is narrowed by 2 1/2" and this roll bar firms up the front quite significantly, it's lowered a little and I'm currently running Red Koni's but as it is a little too firm, I'm going to try gas Spax. (when I can get the different lenghts from them between the G616 and G492) |
