QA1 shock length
In the suspension posts of Sandeep and Humble the QA1 shock recommended is the 4855 version that is specced at 14" extended and 10" compressed. My 72 Super off the ground, with rear arms on the stops measures 16" from eye to eye on the KYB gas shock I currently am running on stock steel trailing arms. I have three questions:
Should limit straps be used to prevent the shock from overextending? Instead of drilling a hole higher in the cup to mount the shock. Could I use the extended shock eye (+1") that QA sells. ? The springs for the QA1 shocks are 2 1/2" diameter and 10" long for the 100 lb versions I plan to run to augment the stock torsion bars. My unscientific eye thinks that there will be clearance issues. Are shorter light springs available? |
