Great Canadian VW Show 2010
I checked out the Great Canadian VW this Sunday. Weather may have held a few people off but overall a good turnout.
A few Germanlook bugs were in attendance. This 1303 was on boxster wheels and had a fuel injected engine. Blacked out trim with a Kamei up front. This guy must have won the lotto to build this engine. Jealous. A very minty bus. Probably an even split between waterpumpers and aircooled. Speaking of waterpumpers This van had a 6 cylinder subaru motor and a nice drop on some bbs split wheels. And now to the highlight of the show for me. Mikes car. First off he drove all the way from Saskatchewan.Which is you dont know Canada it's about a 1600km drive. His car is pretty much how I want my car to end up. Running a turbo EJ20, ZF lsd, disk brakes all around and Fuchs wheels. Mike did an excellent job on this car and I think the trip he made proves how reliable this conversion can be. I picked his brain for a good hour Sorry Mike. This was the first running conversion I have seen and really gives me inspiration to finish mine this winter. All in all a good show. I've been to this show every year for probably the last 8 years but have never made it there to show my car. Next year. Mark my words. Last edited by vw1303; August 9th 2010 at 11:51. |

It was defintely good to meet you guys, Any more questions Eric just ask away, good luck with your build. Dave thanks for offering to bring me an alternator when it turned out to be just a loose connection. I'm going to try and get 3-4 cars together to come out to the spring thaw next year. Sounds like a blast.
Yup, 1650 km, 7 fuel stops (Austin mini I was travelling with only had a 20L tank), in 16.5 hours. It was great, the roads in BC are so much fun. They actually have turns in them! Mike
