I haven't seen those wheels on a VW yet, what sizes have you gone for? I wasn't particularly keen on them to start with but they are really growing on me now!

Rich, that's the main reason i have gone for them. Same reason i went for the 993 targa wheels on my bug - rather unsual on VWs! I am sick to the back teeth of seeing the same old wheels on VWs....walk round Volksworld this year and see how many sets of Fuch wheels you see!
The rears are going to be 17x9 et55. Fronts are still being decided as my intial request is not an option (17x6 et52) |

Yeah that's se awesome work going on there. Loving the wheels. I'll copy those in good time thanks.
My vote is for a Subaru engine and box in the back of that. Can be done for mega cheap compared to even a standard/mild type 1 engine and box build. |

Thanks guys
I have a mild 2276cc to go in - somwhere around the 170bhp mark. Porsche cooling (of course) and the original box rebuilt with longer legs and a splitty nose code so i can raise the engine and gearbox a couple of inches |

Because of the extra depth, I now fear road damage to the engine. You mentioned raising the engine two inches. If I can do this, it would reduce the depth concern. Question, how difficult do you think this is going to be ? I do have mechanical skills, but not body. One member shared with me, that I will need to raise, the trans, shift tube also. I have seen above tunnel shifters. Your input please |

I have the same 3 in 1 machine, glad to know such clean lines can be done with metal working. Great stuff.

I run a raised trans for racing anyway, I do it by inclination for many reasons, briefly, it's better than a 'level' raise for my underbody Venturi effect, but it's a big subject on its own, regards BBB. |
