Idle jets size for Weber 44's??

I installed Weber 44's on my 2.0 914. The idle jet size is 55. What, if anything, would be likely to happen if I went down to a size 50? It seems to me like I have a lotta carb at idle. Runs great thru the revs, and pulls like a rocket. It just seems rich at idle (yes, I adjusted for "lean best").I know I've seen an article on this somewhere, but I can't recall where.
Any tips??
Thanks!

Going down to .050 will cause a fair ammount of change in idle, and progression. If your ride sputters at cruising speed, with the throttles just off their stops, and has a low, bumpy, nasty smelling idle, then .050's would be fine. If you have a low, bumpy idle, but no other drivebility problems, then try .053's if available.

Personally, I would get .050's, install them, try them, and if I need to, ream them up one mil each, and test until I found stoich.
But thats only if it had a progression problem.
