After a testfit of the windshield is was obvious the left corner wasn't wright.
So, out with the grinder again. On my way again. ![]() The stuff I ordered at Hooky's wasn't in yet, so the corners are done for now. Just 4 fun, played with the front suspension 8) ![]() ![]() Paul.

It already looks low, just sitting there on its stands :=)
Very curieus how that would drive on a track compared to VW front beam! So, get on with it! |

Hooky delivered some nice parts 8)
To fix the window corners I ordered these repair corners. ![]() Wile I was ordering at Hooky it made sense to order the weber-windows as well. ![]() Paul.

Yesterday indeed was a good Friday, finally had some time to work on the '56.
Windowcorner left is ready. ![]() ![]() On the pic it looks rough, but IRL it is pretty smooth. Leftside of the dash is finished as well. ![]() Ready for a thin layer of lead. Then it was time to do the innerwing. It didn't fit to the heaterchanel and it was to short due bad repairs in the past. ![]() Paul.

after welding and cooling it was time for some precision grinding
![]() it's almost straight, just needs a minimum of lead. ![]() ![]() ![]() Took me a few hours, but its's worth it. Paul.

Today I started fixing the left quarterpanel
I couldn't find a good donor, so I had to make the best of it with the repro panels. First I shortend it. ![]() After taking some measurements from an original '54, I started hammering. ![]() Just needs a little massage ![]() Paul.

After some welding and grinding, i am very happy with the result
![]() ![]() I still had doubts about the home made steering and changed my mind. I am going for "rack n pinion". This Peugeot 404 steering will do the trick, the round couple rubber which is original for this Peugeot as well, even has the same bolt width ![]() Paul.

Fine job. You have replaced more metal in this car than almost any project I can remember. And it all looks great.

Thanks for the compliment. When you start a project, look for the best car you can find. I already had this car (was my daily) so I had no choice.
