those rims are really nice, it matches the cars aggressive appearance, I also have a 17x7 rims with 215/40R17(f) and 215/45R17(r) it fits nice w/o modifying the fender which is really nice.

Right, have got the case halves together nicely, all sealed up as per Jakes instructions
The dizzy clamp couldnt be secured as the stud on the case was too short, simple solution was to fit a different stud (luckily Dad's an engineer so has all the right tools ) - Original stud on the bottom, new one on top.

Gives us plenty of thread to work with. With the old stud there was about 1 full thread visible BEFORE the nut went on.
Decided to let it all 'set' for a few hours so got on with some more of the rewiring mission... Drivers door Electric windows motor, Electric windows driverside controls, central locking and an alarm LED = 15 wires in total  Nicely soldered, insulated and heatshrinked, just got to finish up the craft routing I have worked out... Nothing visible when door shut, and barely visible when the doors open Just like a modern car! Then decided to check the rings on the pistons, making sure the tolerences were correct and that everything looked ok. Also worked out which piston goes where and which way up they go etc. Just need to work out heights etc for compression next! Get the cylinder shims and start 'chucking' it all together. I also managed to get a little sunburnt! A day well spent I think! Cya, Sam C

Yup, although they were BLANKS so no 4x130 holes exist, only the 4 holes I use. Only other mod needed was the narrower front spring setup (but I already had that) SAM C

Sam,
I know this might not be the place to ask... but hey it keeps the thread alive What type of EBERSPACHER have you got fitted ? I've just bought a B3L although the bloke I bought it from explained how to wire it, he wasn't exactly the brainiest bloke around. I really don't want to wire it all up and something go 'pop' Cheers Rob By the way the Bug is going to be one cool beast

The eberspacher is long gone. I bought a second car for myself and hence the bug now only gets used in nice weather, so no need for a heater.
As for a wiring diagram, google is your friend... took me 10 seconds to find this: http://www.conservatory.com/vw/manuals_nyx/EberBN4.html Not exactly what you are after, but fairly close... If I remember right Just Kampers also had wirind diagrams (may be wrong on that) ---------------------------- No pictures just yet, but over the Bank holiday weekend I have fabricated and welded in the seat bracket/reinforcement bars which tie the heater channel and center tunnel together, and also provide the mounting points for the seats subframe It also doubles up as a secure hiding place for the amps. Pictures later Cheers, Sam C

I did a search and found that but it's not the same as the newer models
Cheers anyway, keep us posted with the Bug.

For those who know quality kit:
IDMAX 12 D4 Big magnet, very sensitive... Doesnt take much power to make this very loud... Old School Rockford Fosgate POWER 500 a2... Cant remember exact specs from the sheet but its something like 2x650watts RMS. For the sub. Here you can see the seat mounting rails I welded in over the weekend.. These tie the heater channel and center tunnel together, and are also seam welded to the floor.. Seat mounting bolts go through the floor, through the box section and into the subframe bits. Thats the Rockford Fosgate Punch 250, for the front speakers (which I havent purchased yet, still auditioning speakers). Phoenix gold bass cube will go on the same mounting board, hidden under the seats. Cant get the stereo out without removing the seats... Should hinder any would be theives. Cya, Sam C

Ok, amp board for the passenger side is nearly done, just thinking about where that relay should go, as I am not happy with its current location.
Few last bits for wiring are on the way. And the driver side amp board is done: Once the seats are in there is no chance of taking these out without removing the seats... And it will be hard to get to them to do wiring.. Hence why I am doing it all now. I also did another round of filling/sanding this weekend... The bodywork is starting to feel flat enough for me to start using the medium (400) and fine (800) paper to get the surface ready for the paint... Also did a shedload more wiring on the drivers door, but I need to get some more heatshrink as I ran out!! 15 wires run into the drivers door alone! Cya, Sam C
