Subaru Automatic Transmission
Hi, have anyone looked into the possibility of the 5 speed or even 4 speed for that matter, Subaru 5EAT model automatic trans. It look plenty strong enough, I am not sure how it would shoe horn into the tunnel of the VW. One website, which did not address the subject further said that the 5EAT had also been used with paddle shifting. Anyone know anything on this transmission?

Ok,I finally came to my sense. I forgot that you can't flip the ring& pinion, so back to the 915 trans. O as I looked closely I noted it was for all wheel drive.

Subarugears in Australia makes a reversed gear kit so you can flip the diff in a Subaru gearbox.
And 915 ? that's a Porsche gearbox, right ? 915 boxes are RWD, a 4WD Porsche gearbox is G50 box, and they come out Porsche 964 (911 from '88 - '92)

Hello the subrau gear box, silly me I got hung up on the possibility of having an automatic trans. The trans I saw was a subrau EAT5. I did not even consider it for all wheel drive. The auzie ring and pinion is for manuals..
