BBS Sport Design 17"
So I've wanted these 'hard to find' wheels for years and finally landed a set
8.5" ET50 / 7" ET55 front 255/40 205/50 I think I'll end up buying new tires eventually and go with 195/45 & 245/45 |

Those are smart looking wheels -- always a favorite of mine. Are you tweaking the tire sizes for clearance issues, or do need new rubber anyway and figure that's the best size for your application?

These tires have legal tread depth - but they certainly need replacing...Right now they're 25" F/R and I'm looking at getting something a little taller in back to fill the fender, while going just a little shorter in front. Have had D90's on for many miles with 195/50's - and like the <24" tire...I would be interested in seeing a 195/50-17 - but I know of no manufacture creating such a size.

Have you got them under std wings/fenders Chris?
I have the same set but not tried them on the car yet. What car you running? |

Std Beetle, `69/`77 - short of narrowing the rear suspension the rear wheels wouldn't fit under stock fenders with any kind of real rubber on them...I'm running 1-1/4" CCC fenders on back...The front I have not mounted yet, my `69 already has 2.5" wider fenders/stock beam/drop spindles - with the right spacer I should have the same backspace as a stock wheel...Goal is to get the ET55 down to 20.

Hi
Those wheels are hot. When you posted the sizes & ETs I put them into to a online wheel offset calculator. Using a 7 inch x 23 ET Fuchs as a base line because I know these fit under stock rear fenders/guards, the 8.5 would have 46mm less inner clearance and 8 mm more outer clearance than a 7 inch wheel, so with stock fenders they might just work. 7's are close under stock rear fenders...I've mocked up 8's and although they might have worked, wider fenders it was. I've seen 9's under 1-1/4" fenders - and they were snug.
These popped-up on CL and just had to pick them up 17x8/6.5 Boxster. Big ol' 235/50: |

Obviously I like the BBS Sport Design line as well
The last boxster wheels are cool too: 6,5J width in 17" is not a common sight for sure! whats that centre cap? |

The guy I picked them up from had purchased some aftermarket wheels, and they came with these centercaps...
