Alternator Wires

My Friend had suggested using a fusible link on the alternator wires because there was nothing to stop it from getting fried. Does anyone else do this?

Amperage is drawn from the alt., so as long as you have fueses on everything else and the feeder wire is protected from chaffing and grounding out your alt. will be fine.
