My G50 install

ive decided to go for the porka box a G50 box from a 1990 911 these can take at least 550 bhp so that should be able to take some abuse

the proka box next to a standard T1 box

now ive got to make this lot fit

well after 20mins with the plasma cutter does this

another 90 mins with the help of a 9" grinder gets this

getting some were now

front and rear mount done ive got fit the IRS brackets and sort the shifter out put some metal back were i cut it out and then i have to do is clean and paint it all

new flywheel and clutch fronm KEP so i can fit the T1 engine directly to the G50

spent a few hours today getting the shifter fitted and the conneceted up to the box, i seam to be able to get all gears but i guess fine tuning when the engine is in and running

i shortend the shift rod by 35mm

i had to change the linkage to an earlier one

as the one on the box wasnt going to fit the linkage i have

the feel of the shifting feels a world away from a T1 box feels very solid and precise

cheers andy

What about the VIN Vehicle Indentifaction Number location? I know of the one on the Dash area, but the second one is right where you have removed. Won't that raise legal issues?

Actually you can shorten the nose cone as per 87-89 3,2 G50 and you will gain about 6-8 cm narrower nose cone...

But your work is also looks very nice,

Jim
