Biggest brakes in 16" Fuchs??
Does anyone know the biggest brake setup that will fit inside 16"fuches
(6s and 7s) with out spacer?? Or slight spacing. I know 944 N/As will work with boxter monos. But can I get 996 calipers and discs inside them? Also my bug is a short axle `64. How is the fitment of the 7inch fuchs in the rear. Will I need spacer. At first I will be running 944N/As all round, but if I could fit turbo discs, I would like to go that route eventually. Uwe for MBT in Germany thinks the 996 set won`t work in fuchs. Would need to go to Boxter 16s at least. Any info would be much appreciated. I have yet to get all my parts together to mock things up! cheers |

the biggest stock porshe disc would be the 964 298mm on the front
on the rear if you use 944 hubs and discs -71mm offset ones -the spoke will hit the caliper, you need at least 7mm -so 10mm spacer on the rear i think note on the front, 175 45 16 bridge stone potenza's are available -if you can get them!! ps i reckon you'd get a 310mm disc in, but then the boxster 2.5/7 calipers would be too small -the 3.2 boxster '2' would work on a 310mm - 28mm thick disc ALTHOUGH they run on a 318mm Last edited by pantswagen; September 26th 2007 at 08:51. |

Can the 16x6 911 fronts be used over the 944 calipers if a spacer is used to move the wheel away from the caliper a bit or is the diameter too great to fit inside the wheel?

Thanks partswagen!
From what I can see on some Porsche website , maybe I can fit a 930 setup in stock 16" 911 fuchs, (304mm by 32mm front, and something like a 310mm by 28mm rear(stock 930 rear) Not to sure on the calipers as of yet. I`d like to use 996 calipers if possible.
Yes I can get those tires ! I live in Japan! I can get any low pro tire. Bridgestone ,Yokos, Pirelli they are all made for the Japanese market. Thanks for the info. If you have any pics I`d love to see them. Cheers Dean |

this disc is 320mm -the caliper is the boxster 's' the disc ic mercedes on a bay hub -it dont fit in this style 16inch wheel with a 20mm sapcer it might -i have definately fitted a 16 inch front fuch on a 944 rear, -i think the stock calipers are fine, with the 20mm spacer removed -bay front studs fitted , but i then fitted 90-91 2 pot 964 rearr calipers, and i needed a spacer of 7mm - i cut the stock 944 spacer down - remember to cut the spigot in the rear |
