Hey Pete, shouldn't you be sleeping??

How's that?
My tire customer likely got a link for the glass and went, "What the hell?"

I have the original rear glass from my '71 still. I have no idea what shipping is Baltimore to Canada but if you pay for that, you can have it.

The glass is perfectly fine. It has the defroster grid in it but it must have a break in the grid somewhere. That was why I replaced it. (Therefore, it was not in my carbeque.)

Got a call from the insurance company yesterday afternoon, which was pretty quick considering that the estimates only got to them in the morning. Anyway, they have given the go-ahead on the repairs, so I will get the car towed over to Arno's today to get started.

Thanks to everyone for the offers of assistance.

cheers
Ed N.

That is the target. The guys from Arno's even asked me that before I brought it up, when they were over to look at the car to do the estimate.

cheers

Talked to Bill at Arno's last night, they have their portion of the repairs done. So I'm going to pick it up tonight, and get it back over to Bolton to have the paint work started.

cheers

Drove the car from Glen Williams to Bolton last night, seems like it is good to go mechanically. Cosmetically it looks not bad under the hood too, other than that awful aftermarket firewall insulation. Had Bill do a valve adjustment and oil change while it was there to start fresh. I took it over to the body shop here in Bolton that I've had very good work done by previously, he knows that I would really like the car to be ready for next weekend. We'll see how that goes ...

cheers

Well, it sounds like I will be sporting a two-tone (green and primer) car this weekend. The prep work is getting done, and the NOS engine lid I got from Brad needs some refinishing on the one side that the dampness got to. The acrylic enamel paint apparently needs quite a bit of time to air-dry properly, so the painter would rather do it next week rather than trying to rush it for the weekend.

I guess a primered Bug is better than none at all anyway.

cheers

Car is sprayed now, turned out pretty nice. There is a slight difference in the colour shade, once it really dries and hardens I'll buff it out. Nice to have it all one colour again.

Again thanks to everyone for the support and advice.

cheers
