Looking for reputable mechanic in GTA

I have just purchased a 1965 VW beetle that has been partially restored. It's a professionally done, frame-off body restoration at looks great except it has no bumpers and the holes have been filled in, I believe with metal. The interior was partially finished and needs to be redone (no headliner). The engine (not stock - 1600 cc) probably requires a minor tune-up as it is brand new with very few miles on it.

Originally, I wanted to get an all stock vehicle but when I saw the body restoration and the price I had to go for it.

Does anyone know of any reputable mechanics or body/interior shops in the GTA. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hans

Hans,

Nice purchase. Check out this thread for shops in the GTA that deal with VW's/custom work.

Thanks

Thanks for the link!

At this point I really just need to get this baby up and running. Needs new suspension (springs and shocks) and basic tune up. Performance will come later.

Also would like to find someone who knows how to install original vintage bumpers with badge bar. New holes will have to cut in the body as the old ones have been welded over.

The tires on this thing on much too wide but they're brand new steel belted radials (very nice, no KMs on them at all - would sell). The rims are OK but not my thing either (once again, would sell). I'm looking for something like a 5 spoke vintage Porsche.

If anyone knows an old German mechanic who loves these car drop me a line.
