opinions anybody?
Which rim would be better top use w/o major modifications done to the rear. The frontend I know will need to be narrowed 2-4inches. I dont want to use porsche rims and thats all I noticed people use on here, I looked already.
This wheel has a +42mm offset http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...6&autoModClar= this wheel has a +35mm offset http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...6&autoModClar= this wheel has a +38mm http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...5&autoModClar= the thing Im not understanding is do I want +40 or more or is it -40 I want to look for when its not a porsche wheel? Someone else will answer as far as required offsets are concerned, my project is in another catagory so I don't know what works. I'll give you a big thumbs up on the Traklite 2.0, as they weigh nothing, it will greatly increase the way your car performs, and they are forged, so you'll never bend them. I think they also look the best too.
If you have more offset(+50mm), you can use a 10mm spacer(-10) to get back to +40, decreasing the track, but if you have +35, you have +35 as far as making the track any less, nothing you can do there except narrow the beam more. If you are close, it is nice to have a few mm extra offset so you can use spacers to space the wheel out to exactly where you want it depending on the tire manufacturer etc, that is if you like a snug fit. Remember that spacers require studs/nuts, or longer lug bolts, and they should always maintain the hubcentric nature. Jason

Has a +38 offset http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...del=Escort+ZX2 another +38 offset http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...2&autoModClar= So I'd need a spacer to equal a +55 offset with these 2 sets right? Also theres a rim called 5Zigen FNO1R-C, there available for FWD or RWD, they weigh 14lbs (ive held one, they feel lighter) and are available in 15-24" .Offsets for the RWD version is +33 and +42mm for the FWD version, there made from 1 piece lightweight aluminum casting, just only problem I got is would any of these wheels look right? heres a pic of my car, and you guys can help me (please?) its 2 toned, baby blue and almond white (similar to the VW stock offwhite) Last edited by Veedub; January 4th 2007 at 01:30. |

The BBS wheels are one-piece forged as well, and weigh only 2/10ths of a pound more (10.2 v. 10.0). They cost $100 more each, however.
So, stick with the Traklite wheels. You don't want wheels that look similar to mine. |

I was looking on ebay and I got shocked at the wheel prices, I sen some rims on there I like alot. what you think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-Ro...QQcmdZViewItem there 12lbs and have a 40mm offset but look at the colors, I like the full polished steel grey in the Slipstream side, and steel grey in the others. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-IN...QQcmdZViewItem another set thats 12lbs 40mm offset and many colors but i like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-4x...QQcmdZViewItem I like this set but there 15x7.5 (would that be a major issue?)they got a 38mm offset. I may end up getting my rims off ebay. I like the first ones I posted in this post alot. There light (but not 10lbs but thats fine) and the color would look good with my 2 tone car. |

I like the Kosei rims.....
If you are going with 15's you'll probably want to make sure you do not get a too 'thin' tire. Here's what I have, and in order to make it look right I'd have to lower the car too much. (I can't go lower in the rear because of the sube motor) http://www.vanbran.com/movies/bug/107_0760.AVI I had to use spacers all around to keep some of the steering.... BTW, they are 15" Enkei rims. I am only curious, the rims I really like are these http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...5&autoModClar=
well they are available with a +45 offset, and a +38 offset, could I use the +38mm offsets up front and the +45mm offset rims in the rear? Also the only bad thing I guess bout them is there 16x7's. |
