944 turbo rear rotor dimensions <-86

Hello,

I am planning perhaps to make bells for rotors, and i need few dimensions for early 944 rear rotor, preferred 944 turbo rotor. I have -86 aluarms and brembos from that period 944, but no rotors.

Most of all i would like to know whats the circular dimension for handbrake shoes and the distance from bottom to rotor surface. Here in my picture they are 74 and 178mm

Hi Alex,

The turbo came with two o/a depths of disc/drum 71mm and 100mm. To get a comparison with your 74mm dimension you will have to take off the thickness of the mounting face. The handbrake shoes are common across the 944 range so if your 178mm dimension is correct for one vehicle they should fit all models.

No, i don't know the "178" dimension, thats my only problem Rest of i can measure and calculate from aluarm with caliper and hub. I just dont have any 944 rear rotor now. Yes, i found that 944 parking brake shoes fit also to many other porsche model.

According to this, they should fit 928, 993 etc.

They are 180mm inside diameter. The brake shoes are 25 mm in width. So 30 mm inside the drum should be ok. I m planning to use merc. W 211 T on 944 NA hubs. According to Brembo catalogue they have the same e brake dimensions. The merc disc is 300 mm dia and 22 mm thick.
