16 inch Boxster wheels on CB disks...

Has anyone installed 16in Boxster wheels on the CB Performance front disk brake kit on a Super late (79) front and rear? I have all the parts now and am proceeding, but I am worried I will get things half back together and need something else. Like Maxx struts or spacers etc. Soooo, if you have done it already let me know. Oh, yeh I know Boxster 16" wheels are for girls. But I bought my new set of tires and wheels for $300. and thus can get one car back on the road. Maybe...

Thanks,
Randy

Now you have upset me

What for you say Boxster 16" are for girls

I am running on a 74L

16 x 6" x 40ET front with 195 50 series

and

16 x 7" x 50ET rear with 205 55 series

I have stock Australian discs on the front
I run a thing called a V Force strut. Lowered adjustable with a 85?mm OD spring.

Heaps of room. I could go 7" front and still fit under stock guards

hmmmm couldnt edit

Any way

what is the ET of your wheels??

you WILL need thin struts. otherwise it will rub

You shouldnt need spacers - i didnt.

I was running Design 90's on the rear and they were 52ET or 54ET and i needed a spacer 5mm there.
You need to turn one of the spring plate bolts round and gring a bit off the head.
You also need to cut away a bit of the bump stop bit

I've got the same rims as Blue74L . They look great , Well for me all Porsche rims look real great and cool on bugs.
Yes, you only need a small dia. springs for the front, ie coilovers, otherwise all will fit without spacers.

Recently there was a reply to a thread about 16" Boxster wheels which said they were for girls, so I decided to close down the idle babble about 16,17,18 and talk direct to those who had installed the 16's.

I appreciate the info and I will order the front shock/spring set up.

I don't know offset without looking at them later.

Thanks for the help,

Randy

Wow, Silver Bullet I just found your pictures in Member Rides and the 16's look great. I am installing them on my 79 convert which is black, so hopefully they will look as good on mine as your two cars.

Thanks again,

Randy
