I've fitted my new wheels!
I wanted to go with these when I initially did the 944 brakes but thought there wouldn't be enough clearance. There nearly wasn't! I had to file down the return lip in the body for them to fit...
They are fully polished 16"x6J Fuchs with Avon ZZ3 205/50R16 tyres. Rich

Well I wouldn't if I where you.. I have a couple of questions for you regarding the scooby / porsche box combination:
* Whats your top speed (if you have found it!) and at what revs was that? * What speed can you cruse at, without over reving the engine? * Would you say your gearbox is ideal for the engine in terms of gear ratios? Thanks! |

I haven't been anywhere near it yet! I have no reason to doubt that it will hit the revlimiter in top which equates to about 155mph ish @ 7000rpm * What speed can you cruse at, without over reving the engine? I cruise anywhere between 70 adn 90 easily all day. Normally 80mph@3300rpm * Would you say your gearbox is ideal for the engine in terms of gear ratios? For road use it's great, but my 1/4 mile ET do suffer, then again it is my daily driver so it's worth it for the ease of cruising... I get nearly 35mpg too... Rich

Wow, thats incredable... 80mph at 3300, thats just ticking over, nice and comfortable..
Any tips on finding the right scooby engine (preferably with car attached)? I guess I have to just keep visiting scrappies.. |

MY 1/4 ET suffers as I am only just into third gear. My terminals are about 104 and third gear max revs is about 101mph!
I'd give up looking for a whole car, much easier to find one from a breakers. I was just lucky with a non Subaru specialist... Rich

Do you mean only just into 4 gear?
So you recomend just getting the engine from a subaru breakers? |

Sorry, yes, only just into 4th.
A Subaru breakers is probably your best bet, you're looking at about £1500. They are more likely to 'throw in' the little bits and pieces that cost a small fortune direct from Subaru.
