1303 suspension upgrades for dummies :-)

I've bought a '73 1303 for my Subaru EJ20T conversion project, on which I intend to use Porsche 944 Turbo brakes and whichever 944 suspension fits best. I also plan on 17" wheels. Since I am pretty ignorant when it comes to the suspension of 1303's (all my experience is with torsion bar/swing axle bugs) I was kinda hoping someone would have a list of which parts are suitable out of the Porsche parts bin to convert the suspension and brakes from stock height with drum brakes to nicely lowered and uprated with killer big-red brakes

Can I swap the whole 944 front strut into the 1303 and still have the wheel under a stock wing (fender ) and not rubbing the spring?

Will I have to get special struts/springs to fit the wheels?

Can I fit 944 adjustable springplates, rear anti-roll bar etc?

Do a search for my posts/replies in the suspension and brakes forums, you'll find the answers to all these questions. There are also tech articles on this site and my SBO! site and forums that should help as well.

No, you keep the 1303 strut.

Will I have to get special struts/springs to fit the wheels?

Yes, the "slimline" like Topline's MaXX or the Kerscher units.

Can I fit 944 adjustable springplates, rear anti-roll bar etc?

Yes, it just about bolts on.

Again, there are plenty of these topics so read up and have fun
