It was great to see Panel, Nigel, Wrench (and family), Jake/Beth and PeteVW. Beth's car is looking great and put down some big numbers. Nigel took to the track and I missed it. Pete, I hope the trip home was smooth and the engine serves you well. I hope the 6 rib works well for Panel too.

Thanks Dave! Good to see you and Wrench also. The biggest thing the 6 rib and the dyno day will do is getting me motivated to get something aircooled up and going again.
I think my buddy Randy that was with me (ex Cali resident, jst moved back to GA) was most impressed by Beth's car. He loved the look of the whole car and the nasty way the engine sounded. He's so jaded by the sand scene and hanging out with the Lauffers, it takes 500-600hp just to get his attention most times. Jeff-

It was one great weekend!
Seeing Nigel givin' it hell on the strip was awesome! He was absolutely shaking in his boots after that first run And spankin' some smack-talkin' California ass on the dyno Saturday was pretty sweet too! I think somebody is having to eat a lot of crow after all the smack talk that went on over at the BKC forum the past few weeks. Thanks to No H20 and Wrench-n-Ride for all the help getting my car ready for the event. It certainly would NOT have happened without all their help.

I would really like a pic of the finished GL cabrio!
3 posts and no hp numbers of Beth's car?? So, what did it make and at what rpm? |

I can't remember what RPM it pulled but I think it made 197 HP and 202 lbft of torque at the wheels.

It was a great weekend.. Spanking Chico's Type 1 ass was so damn worth all the work that we all had to put into the car to make it happen!
Beth's engine turned out better than I had hoped and I still don't know how I got the throttle response so damn intense.. It must be the .024 deck height coupled to the 10.5:1 and 89 octane along with the small cam and twin plug heads :-) wait till next year... Plans were made today for what we'll be debuting and what it'll be equipped with :-)

I didn't get any pics of interior. It's just as bad a$$ as the outside. (I seen enough of the inside during my stay at Jake's that I forgot to take any)

Nice meeting/seeing everyone again. Had a good time, and the drive back was much better with only some rain to deal with. Got in at 7pm, had a nap, and now at work on the night shift, looking at the weekends pics!
In the morning i will be a mess. I looked at the Navi/GPS and i did 3700kms and just shy of 38hrs of driving! The 4hr 30mph drive through OHIO/Kentucky in the snow with the summer tires was scary. The bummer of the weekend was waking up to snow falling Saturday morning. I was cleaning up the car in the mild Friday night at the carwash, and i thought the local guy washing his truck was pulling my leg. I asked him what the forecast was for Saturday --> cold & snow! Jake I hope you get involved next year. Your commentary was entertaining, and the driver/builder interviews were an awesome addition. Damon’s Pro-Stock was quite a sight to see. The land speed record Ghia had me cringing with every 100rpm it was slowly climbing. Hopefully more racers are there next year, possibly a Pro-stock invitational/shootout? Well, the track closing down with the snow Saturday, was key to Damon’s ride being there. Have tons of pics, will post in the coming days. Love coming down, and hope to see ya'll again next year! Biting my tongue on this one, but i hope to have the '52 there for '09. Seeing the confused looks as people walked by was priceless! Many thought that T1 was powering my Golf. Pete
