944 to 1303 hand brake assembly?
I purchased the Kerscher parts for the assembly of the emergency brake for the 944 conversion. Since the parts I got came from a 1985.5 944, I will be using the Al trailing arms.
I understand the 944 ends will have to replace the VW ones. Do I cut the VW cable as long as possible or do I have to determine correct length to cut? If that is the case, how do I determine the correct length? I don't understand how the tubes are used with the Al arms. Is this only needed on the steel trailing arms or how do I use them? Thanks for the help! |

As I remember correctly the E-brake parts from Kerscher are for the steel arms and not for the alloy arms. I know this because I've done this conversion myself. The easyest way to go is to purchase a e-brake kit from MBT in Germany. This kit is easy because you use the original VW e-brake cable, no cutting etc needed!! MBT also hase a special alloy sleeve for correcting the length of the VW cable to the Porsche e-brake parts. Good luck.

944 ebrake info
Do you have a link to the site where the 944 cable adapter is available ?
Any pictures of the parts or pricing would be a big help. Thanks Jim |
