Great Lakes GTG.......... May 16th '10

Hey,

Anyone want to go to the Great Lakes GTG this coming Sunday (May 16th) on Grand Island NY?

Meeting some TDi'rs in Burlington to roll down. Will probably cruise the aircooled if anyone else is up to it. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Here is some info from Vortex:

He we are again people!

Great Lakes GTG 7!
It's Buffalo's DubsintheBuff's turn to host this cool, laid back GTG. This is a great start to kick off the show season as a non-competitive, BBQ and BS sort of day.
Each year the GTG grows, we're hoping to continue the trend and have this be the largest one yet.
One new thing we're going to bring to the table this year is to help others that are less fortunate. It is few and far between that car clubs really give back to the community, so we'd like to take this opportunity to ask for you to support a local non-profit organization, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Niagara. Whether it be $1, $5 or $20...every dollar helps.
Venue and GTG Sponsor:
Blackforest Motorsport http://www.blackforestmotorsport.com
Raffle Info:
Black Forest Motorsport will be giving away a host of raffle prizes, so don’t be afraid to buy tickets. Rest assured that 100% of this money will be going directly to Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Black Forest Motorsport is not being reimbursed for the event space, time spent, or any of the raffle materials. Your entrance donation will score you 1 ticket but like I said above feel free to buy more!

$1 - 1 ticket
$5 - 6 tickets
$10 - 14 tickets
$20 - 30 tickets

Grand Prize will be a GIAC performance chip/flash with every option loaded.
Option list:
· 91/93 octane performance
· Stock
· Valet
· Race
· Kill
· Firewall
Note: not all switching options are available for every car
Note: switching can either be performed using GIAC’s hand-held flashloader ($150) or by the GIAC switching software available at no cost on http://www.GIACusa.com (you will need a compatible diagnostic cable and laptop for this)
Estimated value is up to $950
2nd prize: New generation 8GB iPod nano (black) (est value $149)
3rd prize: Complete synthetic oil service (value up to $90) or a GermanAutoParts giftcard for the non-locals

It was a great day!

The cruise down and back was nice, and the weather could not have been better. The border crossing at the Rainbow bridge was fast.

My aircooled ran without a hickup. Many Ontario VW's made the trip down.
