flipping a subaru box

I know its been discussed that flipping a subaru diff cant be done, but what about flipping the whole box? can taht be done?

I would think it is mainly an issue of oil circulation and breathers. I'd be interested if you pursue this. Subaru drivetrains are not the strongest 'boxes around, and then you will be putting all hte horsepower through the weakest 'axle'!

it was a question of curiosity rather than planning on doing it. if I were top go that route, I'd definatly make use of the other output as well, build an AWD beetle
