HRE wheels on a 64
I was wondering what you think of these wheels on a 64 beetle. They come in sizes from 18-20 inch in diameter and from 7.5- 13 inches wide with ANY backspacing. I was thinking 18x8 in the front with a narrowed beam and 18x10 in the rear with 1.5 inch wider fenders. What backspacing should I use on both??

Maybe this will help you for the rear, my BBS wheels are 18x10 and the ET value is 57. They need 35mm thick spacers each to clear the Porsche brakes and the torsion blade and fenders are 7cm wider on each side.

Correct me if im wrong but ET is the same as offset and the 57 is in mm. So if I ordered my custom wheels with 5.86 inch backspacing it would fit perfect. Where did you get the 2.25 inch wider fenders from and how much were they? How big are your brakes (diameter)?

Brake diameter I'll have to measure but got the widened fenders from CSP in Germany (I live in Belgium and my order was here 2 days after I placed it), quality on the fenders is very good I must say. They'll be painted this wednesday.

well I just got a repily from hre wheels. I asked them if they could do a 5.83 in backspacing. There repily was "We can build wheels with any offset you prefer." oh and I asked them about shipping from cali to oklahoma, they said $180 a set. Sounds good to me.So when I get the rest of the bug done I am going to order my wheels. Yet I haven't decided whether I want them with the boltheads showing or not?
