993 brake upgrade questions

I keep seeing that the brake conversions are done on CB "dropped" spindles.
Is this mandatory to do the conversion ? As I already am using CB spindles with their disk brake kit - they're just not the dropped ones.
ALso - is the conversion the same for king&link pin front ends as the ball joint ?

Thanks, Dan

I am using the normal BJ spindle so you do not have to use the CB dropped spindle.
King&link pin has different spindles. I do not know if a Porsche conversion was ever done to them.
