Kamei on Standard

Does anyone have any pictures of Kamei spoilers mounted on standard beetles? I have seen lots on supers but not very many on standards. Also, will a kamei spoiler meant for a super beetle fit on a standard? I am willing to modify the spoiler slightly but want to know if there are any dimensional differences.

The car I want a spoiler on.

Standards and Supers used the same bumpers in the same corresponding years -- at least that's so in the US. The Kamei spoilers I have seen including the one on my dearly departed were meant for 1968-73 model year standards and Supers.

I have heard there are Kamei spoilers for later year, big bumper standards and Supers (US reference again), but I have not seen them and I don't know if they are still being made or only available in vintage form.

Years ago, SBO! had a group buy (they're up to their seventh or eighth group buy by now), and I remember seeing someone having a simple but effective adaptation of a 1968-73 spoiler on a later bumper.

If I go to theSamba later today, I will search their gallery for a standard with a spoiler. I can't imagine there's not at least one photo there.

Much to my surprise, I did not see one pic of a Kamei spoiler on a standard at theSamba or anywhere else. There was one standard with a homemade spoiler that was Kamei-like, but somewhat thinner.

Kamei did make an earlier spoiler that did not attach to the bumper. I have never seen one but there are vintage ads are around. The thing looks like something from a pre-Goldfinger Bond movie.

I didn't want to give up so this is best I could find so far ...

Here's the home-made one:

Sorry for the small pics but this one has "Jose" -- a Mexican standard with a Kamei.

I stumbled across this special edition from South Africa, too. I don't think it is a Kamei, but it is close.

Here is the vintage one in a museum:

Then, there were these two eerie pics from a German site. They are from a 1302, not a standard. What was eerie for me is this is a German version of my dearly departed. Shantung yellow -- a one-year only color. Notice the un-American turn signals? Mine didn't have the extra driving lights, but they were planned. Mine had BBS wheels. The tail lights are un-American, too. Still, very eerie ...

Thanks for looking. I came up with similar results. I guess I'll just have to try it out for myself.

Remmele Blue bug has a front spoiler attached to the body, if you can find the article in volksworld or VW speed, there are pictures of this bug with 3.1 T4.

Well we will soon have picture documentation of what a Kamei front spoiler looks like on a standard.
