Custom made coil over shocks

I have two differant plans for coil over shocks, both would be great setups.
Option #1:
Bilstein Oem rear shocks for the IRS beetle=$70
Bilstein Oem front shocks stem mount for a 69 camaro (similar valving to the balljoint beetle but a smaller shock body according to bilstein[don't ask])=$74
Snap rings for both sets of shocks=$5
Coilover sleeve kit by AFCO (5" of ride height adjustability on shock!) from summit racing=$40 per shock
Total front and rear coil over setup ride height adjustable only=$695 minus machining for Snap rings.

Option #2:
Aldan coil over custom made to my specs, single adjustable, ride height adjustable, heim joint bottom mount, stem mount top for ball joint beetle=$420 with all hardware and springs.
Aldan coil over shocks heim joint coil overs double adjustable, ride height adjustable=$530 with all hardware and springs. (Single adjustable, ride height adjustable=$399)
Total front and rear coil over setup fully adjustable compression, rebound and ride height=$950 complete, $820 single adjustable, ride height adjustable.

Lazy, any picture or further info on option 1: camar bilstein coilover mod. Is it really easy to carry the modification? cutting or welding? thanks
A tech article on this would be great. You said you can ajust the ride height by 5"!?!: how does it work?

thanks
