porsche wheels on my oval????

hi guys,

i have a 56 oval running 3inchnarrowed beam and i am playing with wheel fitment at the moment, looking for chrome rims.

i am runnning cb dropped spindles with aim of fitting porsche brembo 4 pots from a boxster to them

could i fit these porsche rims to my bug under stock fenders?

they are Front: 17" x 7" 55mm offset Rear: 17" x 9" 55mm offset

if not what would i have to do to make them fit??

the fronts should fit fine with a 3" narrowed beam.
the 9" rears about going to be a problem under stock fenders
your probably gonna need spacers and at least a 1 to 1.5" wider fender

ok went and bought these wheels over the good old ebay.

now....tires. from searching on ebay................again, ive found wheels for sale that are 17x7 wheels have a 205/50/17 tyre on them and the nine inch rears have 255/ 40/ 17 tires on them. i think i'll buy them in the U.S. because a friend of mine can bring them over in his container in a few weeks.

are these the sizes i should be looking for on a bug. im also looking a tyre that has good road holding characteristics but yet performs very well in rain. im in ireland.

best prices ive found seem to be here:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...t=All&x=96&y=5

any advice greatly appreciated.

Just to let you know, a 205/50/17 is a 25.1" (64cm) tall tire. Thats almost
as tall as most stock tires. Your not going to be able to lower the front a
whole lot with a tire that tall.

205/45/17 is going to be 24.25" tall (about the same height as a skinny 145)
205/40/17 is going to be 23.5" tall (about the same height as a skinny 135)

for the front, I like a 205/40/17... but thats just me.
if I was only going to lower it maybe 2 inches, then 205/45/17.

205/45/17 for lowering about 2"
205/40/17 for lowering 3" or more inches

These are for 7" wide wheels.

For the rears, if you are using 9" wide wheels,
you will probably want to run 255/40/17 or 255/45/17
