944S2/968 calipers on 1303

I have a little brake riddle I need to pick your collective brains about. I got some calipers from ebay last year. I didn't know what they where from, but they were cheap. Here they are:

I got some local Porsche specialists to try and ID them. They had some pads to fit them, and from them worked them out to be 944S2 / 968 calipers. I then got some disks for that car, but they don't fit. The disks are 28mm thick but are too thick for the calipers (only by a few mm or so) (a friend had to get them for me, hence why I didn't try them with the calipers before I bought). Turning the disks down would reduce them to below their recomended minimum size. I would still trust them, but would be easier to just get ones to fit. So anyone have any idea what these calipers might be? Could they be rears? They would need to fit late 944 hubs.

Chris
