Question What trans do you have?

What trans are you running? I guess engine and trans would be a better question. Are you using a type IV engine and a modified type I trans? Are you running a type 1 engine with porsche trans? What problems are you having? What things have worked? What gear ratios are you using? What about pressure plate and clutch combinations? What type of driving do you do? Street only, steet and highway cruising, drag racing, road course?

Well, I can tell you what I WILL BE using. 2165 Turbo T1 mated to a late all aluminum 915 box with Kennedy flywheel, stock Porsche clutch and P.P. Custom gearing and LSD. It will be street driven and occasional road course time. Also some drag time (why not?). Biggest problem so far.......$$$$$$$$$. Its an expensive coversion alone. Then add custom gears ($525/ gearset....I'm changing 2 through 4) and an LSD ($1800.....4340 chromoly case is why the LSD is so much). Eh! What are you gonna do? Its only money, right?

Porsche 911/01 5 speed with 2.7l type 4 using a 914 flywheel and h/d 215mm pressure plate. Since the gearbox input selector shaft is quite a bit longer and the type 4 is also longer i found that i had to install the engine and box together as a unit to make it all go in.
