Early Turn Signals on Late Beetle

Could anyone tell me if I can use 69 beetle turn signals on my 72 super beetle? I didn't know if both used 12 volt, and if it would work out. Thanks

Yes, they are 12-volt units.

In the US (my assumption since I don't know where you reside), the 1964-67 turn signals used the same base as the 1968-69 turn signals. Therefore, you would need to swap the entire unit.

Also, the 1970-77 turn signals have two separate bulbs -- one single-filament bulb for side lighting, and one double-filament bulb for "parking lights" and flashers. So while you may have some body work to do as you fit a smaller unit to the fender, you may also have a wiring issue to resolve.

I am sure none of this requires extravagant modifications.
