97' Passat inner handles in 1303
Yesterday I bought inner door handles from VW Passat, the handle itself works and fits great in beetle, problem occured when I've tried to connect power window switch, it has only 4 pins (previously I used ford 6 pin switch, pair for window motor, pair for light (+/-) and pair for power (+/-))
does anybody know how to connect them to standart 2 pin (SPAL deluxe) window motors? any sugestions? Anybody have any expirience with modern VW/skoda/seat power window switches? some schemes? diagrams? Thanks for hlep. Chris. |

... :( it can't be done
to all thosoe who would like to use VW swithes. They only can be used with VW window motors and VW comfort computer. Ford ecsort/mondeo/scorpio swithes work fine and can be fitted into VW handles (with some modification of course)

might be a bit awkward using those, on my passat the window switch is like that on the passenger side but down lower in the door in a multiswitch plate on the driver's side. Maybe different for different models?

there you go.
Photos with handles installed. I had to make special adapters from fiberglass (2kg of plaster to create mould, and two layers of fibreglass - realy easy task, I thought that making f/g parts is more difficult) to hide electric window motor assembly as I'm using one piece windows. Door panels and my f/g adapters are covered with self-adhesive material used for making car audio boxes. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
BTW: Handles are from back door of 97' VW Passat/Bora |

as you can see everything is home made, I know that it doest'n look nice but it woks just fine. Handle and door lock are connected with steel line, Ford switch is glued to the handle, electric window motor is mounted on stock window winding mechanism. hmmm... what else... just ask regards Chris |
