VW 1303 with a Porsche 911 3,0 twinturbo!

This car is bulit in Norway in the mid 80´s approved with 429 bhp at the Norwegian car-approval. It had 429 bhp at 0,9 bar and 320 bhp at 0,6 bar.

It has a 934 block with twin-turbo,two intercoolers and the wheel-base are increased with 11 cm,porsche 915 gearbox and porsche 911 turbo brakes for starters..

Here it is tested up against a tuned Ferrari 355 F1 in a Norwegian Car-magazine called Drive in november 2000.

The building costs in 1983 was whopping 100000 euros!

That's pretty awesome though.

Are you able to translate the article for us mere mortals?

the rear wings on that are huge! looks like the wheel base was increased in the rear. wonder if it's using 911 trailing arms?

Trailing arms..

Yes, it is trailing-arms from a 911. The brakes are from a 911 turbo 1983 , both in front and in the back. This car is buildt in 1983... , that´s even before 16 inch Fuchs wheels was put on the 911´s.. So given that it is 25 years ago this car is buildt it is quite a piece of work... Looong before any brake-kits like Kerscher and so on... The oil-tank is at the front as well as the battery. The car has a weight of 1085 kg with porsche 911 back-seats,custom made styling (one of a kind) and the wheelarches are made in steel and not in fibre. The engine is as said a Porsche 934 block, porsche 3,2 pistons, cams from the 911 sc,turboes are two scwitzer with each intercooler behind the rear whellarches, extra fuelinjection over a adjustable amount of turbo-pressure. This was the best there was in 1983 when the car and engine was made..
Now these days this car is no sensation, but at the time it was made in 1983 it was like a legend in Norway made for at the time-being most rich person in Norway owning the Bergesen shipping company , a real car-enthusiast that resently passed away . The car is now under complete restoration by it´s new owner, and a new engine is also under construction.
If I have heard right .. , the brother of this owns one of the Nordstadt-beetle´s.. Then you are talking about lucky brothers...

1303 porsche..

The front-suspension is complete Porsche 930 and Porsche 930 brakes all around. The trailingarms at the back are also from Porsche 930. The drive-shafts are partly Porsche and VW Transporter. Gearbox is the 915 with 40 % differential.., clutch is Porsche sinter. Porsche Fuchs 7x15 at front and 9x15 at the back(not impressive, but as said the car was built before the 16 inch arrived..). The engine I think I have described.....

1303/911

Sorry, I don´t have pictures of the struts, but it where used 930 struts as well. There was a lot of work to fit and machining parts, but when a billionare pays the bill, who cares.. As you might understand, there was a lot of working hours on this car.. As I mentioned.. the car was built in 1983 long before any bolt on parts for any porsche parts on to a beetle.

That is sensational in 2007! In 1983... it was like aliens landing from another planet!
