914 Parts, anyone?

I have a friend that has a bunch of 914 parts that he wants to move. I don't know exactly what he has specificly, I know he has 1 maybe 2 gauge clusters, a bunch of engine tin, some cases and other engine parts, maybe a set or two of seats, and a few brake parts... I would have taken an inventory of the parts he has, but if no one is interested I'm not going cataloge everything he has. Sorry, but that'll take a lot of time. Not that I have a lot of things to do, but that's not the point. I'm really not getting any money out of this, his prices are his prices. I'm just trying to help him and whoever buys the parts out.

Basicly, if you're looking for some 914 parts. Just tell me what you're looking for then I'll do all the "leg work". (find out IF he has it, how much he wants for it...)

I might try to get 1 of the gauge clusters for my project, but that's if no one wants it, or I can get it cheap.

Hey BG, a couple of things about the 914 guages that I learned from my limited experience owning a 914. You'll want to test the speedo to insure the needle works and the odometer works as well. What happens with those guages(it's the same way with 911 ones too) if you are driving and you reset the trip odometer while moving it will damage the gear inside it. I had that problem with the one in my 14 when i got it. Luckily i found a good one at a vw swapmeet for cheap. Also there are the fuel guages that are fuel/temp combo gauges, unless you want a degreed one. I see you got the 150 mph as opposed to the 120 mph, me likes .

I have another set of gauges (120 mph) in the garage that are a little rough and I'm going to use those for test gauges while making my dash... Between both sets of gauges I should be able to get one set to work IF anything is wrong with them to begin with...

The 150 mph speedo is motovation to get a powerfull engine...

I'll talk to him about the latch tomarrow, I asked his dad. and he wasn't sure. but just to be perfectly clear, you want the part that attaches to the trunk. I just want to make sure, I don't like asking people about a part or asking them a question and getting that, "what on earth are you talking about?" look

I know the feeling, yes it's the latch that's attached to the rear trunk.

I asked about the latch, and he said he'll look for it. He's really been working hard trying to get his 914 ready for a show in Effingham, IL yesterday. So if he has it, I should know sometime this week. I'm leaving for a show friday afternoon, so I'll try to find out about it before then. Sorry for the wait, but will all the things going on with him and me it's hard to get away from what we're doing and find something.

I'll ask the guy about all the peices he has then i'll have to get back to you. He's probly not even sure all the things he has, but i'll ask, then i'll get back as soon as possible. sorry for the delay, but he just started to sell the parts, so we're not too sure of everything he has.

I'm not in a big rush, I've been driving on it with a non-op trunk latch for over a year, a little while long is no big deal. Thanks for being the middle man.
