Question T4 dual carb linkage woes!

What carb linkage are all you t4 porsche fan conversion lovers using?

I have a scat!?! linkage for a T4 and its a right load of tosh...

it mounts to an arm that stands off the case at an angle, but it will only open the carbs halfway if that.

Anyone come across one of these before?

Wish the previous owner would get his finger out and make a copy of his *cough* mark!

thanks for any help offered

darren

i bought CSP bellcrank linkage. the engine has been dyno'd with no linkage issues, but it is not in the car yet.

Thats the linkage I'm going to change to this winter.

With my hex linkage, the 3-4 side carb opens a bit sooner than the 1-2 side carb and I can't adjust it out. This is because my downpull bar is way more towards the 3-4 side and causes a funky rotation on the 1-2 side bar support.

The bellcrank linkage is the way to go, it looks like it is designed to pull both throttles open at the same time.

I had the same problem on my T1 with the scat. What I found to work is to play with the angle that the thottle cable attatches to the linkage. This is done by adjusting the length of BOTH of the threaded rods going to each carb. I hope this applies to the T4.

Hi

thanks for the replies.....

Ron im having this problem before the throttle cable is even attached! When turning the pivot in the centre manually it will not pull the carb arms fully open, to get the throttle fully open it seems the pivot has to turn back on itself.

Think i'll have to look into sourcing another one.
