should i just drill my drums

Hi i just bought some new wheels that came of a gti that are 17" by 7 and i know that the bolt pattern is different , should i just get someone to drill my old drums and i dont have enough money for disk brakes, thanx alot

If I were you I would get some prices first, and then look at the price difference. If you have a big gap in price then get them drilled ,if not save up for a set of disc. Maybe that will help. But if you really want to put the wheels on go for it. Peace!

If you get an inexpensive drill press and are very careful in setting things up, you should be able to drill out the drums yourself. Why pay someone else to do something you can do yourself? They're as likely to screw it up as you are, sometimes more-so. At least if you make a mistake you get to know about it.

I had mine done for a total of $40.

Any decent machine shop could... it might not be their specialty, but they definately understand the set-up on the measurements. The smaller "mom and pop" places would be easier to talk to... the high-end industrial places are usually so busy that they price it waaaaay high (minimum shop fee/set-up charge) just to get you to go away. You could try making calls but showing up in person and being humble and well mannered always seems to get them to try and help you.
