MBT parts in the US?

If someone was going to stock MBT parts here in the US, which parts would you guys want to buy? Would it make a difference to you if you could paypal the money and get the parts by UPS in 3-5 days? All assuming the price would not exceed what it takes you to order from Germany. Is anyone ready to order parts either at this time or soon? Please let me know what you think about the idea.

Thanks,

Randy

Since MBT requires the spindles to build each hub to specs (or so they say) it would be almost impossible to have an inventory, per car, of their parts.

Unless someone used the spindle exchange method of doing business. Good spindles are not hard to come by. The question still is: What is the demand for MBT parts in the US? A lot of views with no feedback. This does not bode well for investment in parts.

Thanks,

Randy

Take into consideration that Chris Fitz tried for a few years, to no avail, to be a state side seller for MBT. I think the bottom line is that although their parts are really great and everyone wants them, they are just too expensive.

I bought a front set from Chris and it took almost six months to come the first time. It was the wrong mount for the calipers I was using. It then took about four months for the right parts to come. I was told by Chris he was busy in Kosovo and was having problems getting the parts from MBT. The other problem is Chris was trying the duty free route of military shipping through his work on Blackhawk helo's, so the parts went from MBT in Germany to Chris in Kosovo to his dad's house in California and finally to the customer. What ever happened with his arrangement, it did not work for me.

I just ordered a rear uniball 935 rear conversion and it took about 10 days to ship from the first email discussion, the order, and the wiring of funds. I would think if the parts are available here there should be some interest. I have also talked to Uwe about doing all machine work here, and using his mounts.

Personally I find important the fact that the MBT parts are TUV approved and manufactured to those stringent specifications. Some people would like to build their own and others will want to have MBT quality parts on the brakes they are about to rely upon when flying down the freeway. Why buy big Brembos and scrimp on the mounts?

But James, thank you for answering. If you are coming up the Austin way, give me a call and let me show you the projects.

Thanks,

Randy

Randy, I am past due to come to another Ennis show but now that I fly to Cali for our SBO! meet it takes up the funds and time. I'll keep it in mind, and thanks for the offer, I'd still like to drive up sometime.

In closing (about MBT); their parts quality and craftsmanship, along with the safe design, are outstanding and are highly recommended.
