My bug went for its headliner last week! Pete @ delux has done a few volksworld cars and is awesome with a sewing machine

it was the first time its been out of the workshop bolted together and polished so i took a few pictures!

paint work looks awesome - just a few things left to do on it now!

also picked my brakes up today

Just need tp paint the hub, spindles and calipers now

It looks awesome! Was it hard to machine dropped spindles to accept those brakes or it was not an issue?

thanks again everyone - you're comments have spurred me on to get it done! mx67 bearing adapters were made to run beetle bearings on the spindle. a few mm was taken off the back of the hub, and a small area of the back of the spindle was spotfaced to create a flat face to mount the caliper bracket. then a hole was just drilled and tapped to bolt the bracket on it sounds simple but did cause a couple of headaches regarding the best place to put the caliper ad best way to mount it.

got my car back from Pete today and he's done a great job. It's REALLY hard to photograph the black headliner on a bright day against a birght colour so the pictures dont really do it justice!

il get the windows in next week

You Suuuurrre you don't want to take those white items off,
Rear-view mirror, visors, rear cabin vents, etc,
And dye them black to match the headliner?

That white, just...

Nevermind me,
I'm here to pick nits!

(Pretty easy to tell who's the jealous one here)

Dean, for the rear view mirror, what are you fitting? A mk2f Polo one is a nice mod. They are a bit longer in the stalk and same fitting
