that is what im going to run om my 68 kabrio
Porsche Cup 2's on a 1500 IRS cabrio which has 944NA brakes and narrow 944 rear ali arms .
Fronts - 7x17 ET55 Rear - 8x17 ET70 (will tuck right under,,) To keep these under stock rims!!! It is not possible as the 70 et on the rears will push the rim out 2" What you have to do is measure from the spring plate to the mounting face of the rear disc (where the wheel butts up) Then from here to the outer lip of your wing... | | | |{ 2" }|{ 6" }| WING DISC ARM use a et calculator to give you the inset and outset of your wheel and see if it will fit DON'T FORGET TO ADD HALF A INCH FOR THE TYRE WALL!!!!! ALSO THE BOLTS ON THE ARM STICK OUT!!!!!!! good luck with the setup let us know how it goes chris |

Thanks Chris,
Ive seen lots of people with the 7x17 ET55 all round but because I have wider rear wheels I'm going to have to do some calculating!! |

in the front, you will have to run narrow struts (80mm) and most likely a no spacer in the front. I was running a similar setup on my 1302 minus the 944na brakes. You will be right under the front arch within half inch or so.
in the rears, I dont think you will need any spacers because of the offset of that wheel. I have a 7" et55 wheel in the back and had to run a 10mm spacer. You are using a 8" wheel with et30 wheel. You will have 10mm less backspace then I did, so the spacer should be required, especially if you are running the 944 brakes in the rear also. The outside edge of the rear wheel if going to stick out an extra 48mm more then a stock beetle will need to get wider fenders accordingly.

vujade,
Are you saying that I will have 48mm each side? or altogether? If I put 215/40/17 rubbers on them this value might change some more right? I didn't really want to have to get wider wings, too much hassle for me. I might just change the rear wheels! What would be the best offset in 7", 7.5" and 8" Cups to fit under stock fenders with 944NA brakes on beetle arms? (Are there any benefits from changing the arms? I have both beetle and 944 NA arms) |
