standard offset/ 1st post
Hi there
love the site been looking round it for the last 2 weeks . Ok can any one tell me the standard offset on a 1303 ? And standard wheel size please. trying to work out the offset of bbs rs wheel i would need ? Looking for a replacement for my CATERHAM 7 which i will be selling soon cost to much and use just for track days. So had a think well i could go back to a mk2 gti which i ran 4 years ago ,but its a front wheel drive car ,and i love the rear wheel drive feel on track . 10 years ago i ran an old school look 1967 beetle you know the thing drums all round BRM reps nose down arse up handling and braking was shocking, ok in a stright line at santa pod that was it . but what if i get a 1303s i thought 10 years have past and i realy like the GL cars now . I dug out 1 of my old VOLKS WORLD mags from april 1997 ,was right at the back of the loft, and found a car that may handle as well as my caterham 7 Christian Stelzer car If i go back down this path beetles i am looking to build a car that can be driven on track and be fun and one or two show in the summer So i would be looking at 15inch + 7.5 bbs rs rims like the euro golf boys go with for my look .and a full make over of brakes and Handling. I know it will cost so not sure yet what to do , should i just get a golf mk2 and stick a cage in ..? but then a 1303 with 15+7.7 gold bbs rs would look so cool on my drive Northeee
